2. Who Is It Best For?

Will the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim Car Seat Be a Good Fit For Your Child and Family?

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim can best be classified as an entry-level 360 car seat.

That makes it a great fit for parents with some car seat knowledge, but who equally are looking to make the step up to a very different, more convenient, and much easier-to-install car seat.

The Revolve 360 Slim will also suit those looking for their first experience with a 360-rotating feature, but we aren’t yet ready to spend much money on this type of model – it’s around $100 much cheaper than other rotating car seats with the same (even better) 360 degrees rotation.

Because this Revolve 360 car seat has almost the entire catalog of functionality boasted by the more expensive Baby Jogger City Turn, it also represents an excellent opportunity for cash-strapped parents to get their hands on a litany of premium features at a bargain-basement price.

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim’s weight means I can’t classify it as a typical travel car seat. It’s best to use it in the vehicle and you don’t need to switch between cars. If you want to take it for air travel, luckily, this Revolve 360 car seat is FAA-approved.

In terms of stage, the Revolve 360 Slim can handle both rear- and forward-facing. You’ll be impressed with its rear-facing performance, up to 50-lb for the maximum extent, to 3 or 4 years of age.

It’s one of the three Evenflo 360 car seat models with an improvement on this spec. The other two models are the upgraded siblings for Evenflo Revolve 360 all-in-one car seat – the Extend with SenorSafe and the Extend with Quick Clean Cover.

These three car seats inherit the 360-degree design while improving the key features to compete with alternatives on the market.

For example, the SensorSafe is copied from the Cybex Sirona S’s SensorSafe, while the Quick Clean Cover is quite the similar concept of Chicco’s Zip-off design and Graco‘s RapidRemove.

The 50-lb rear-facing is a huge upgrade because there are only a few car seats that rear face to 50 lbs.

3. Value for Money

Is the price tag worth it?

Absolutely. Considering everything it’s capable of, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim offers some of the best value in the best 360 car seat category.

Not only is the Revolve Slim the cheapest entry point into the Evenflo 360 car seat range, but it also holds its own when compared with its spec-stacked siblings. The Slim’s 360-degree rotating ability, quick clean cover, and levels of safety and comfort are all on par with what the Evenflo Revolve 360 Extend models offer.

Yet, crucially, the Slim is far cheaper than the latter, while also managing to be slimmer and more portable.

In fact, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is a such good value that there are only three 360 car seats in its class that I’d recommend as worthy alternatives. These are the Cybex Sirona S, the first OG of Revolve 360 Slim – Gold, and Graco Trun2Me, You can check my dedicated reviews of these, or learn more about their pros and cons in the ‘Alternatives‘ section below.

Comparison: Which Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim Car Seat is Best?

Before we get into the meat of this Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim review, I want to quickly unpack some of the key differences between the Slim and its two fellow Revolve 360 Slim models – the Slim with Quick Clean Cover and Slim with SensorSafe, and the regular model – Gold Revolve 360.

Firstly, let’s address the difference between the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim and its same-level siblings. As you can probably guess from the name, it’s essentially a souped-up version of the Slim. And, at first glance, it’s more or less the same car seat – it sports the same slim design and most of the same features. But look a little closer, and subtle – but key – differences emerge:

  • The Revolve 360 Slim with Quick Clean Cover comes equipped with an easy-to-remove seat cover design, making it easy to take off the seat pad for washing. This saves more time!
  • The Revolve 360 Slim with SensorSafe allows you to receive extra alters via smartphone in case your kid is forgotten in the car seat alone or the car seat interior temperature goes too high.
  • These improvements are at the cost of a slightly higher price. If you don’t need the convenience provided by the Quick Clean Cover or assistance from the SensorSafe, saving $20-$50 would be a more practical choice.

For me, I would like to choose the Quick Clean Cover version, removing the seat cover is really a tough task without this or its similar design.

So how about the regular Revolve 360 car seat – Evenflo Gold?

Well, though this is undoubtedly a classic car seat – with an untouchable position in the pantheon of swivel car seats – there’s no shrinking the fact of its gargantuan size and price tag. Compared to Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim, the Revolve 360 Gold is:

  • Higher weight and height limits (100 lbs/57″ vs 65 lbs/49″)
  • Almost 3 inches wider (19.8″ vs 16.75″)
  • Costs $70 more
  • Slightly heavier

Sure, the Revolve 360 Gold has higher weight and height limits for a longer lasting, but when compared to the Revolve 360 Slim in other ways, the Revolve 360 Gold doesn’t stand out as much as its price tag suggests it should.

For example, you have to install multiple car seats side by side in the back row, only the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim and its siblings would be optional for a good choice.

Plus, the Slim improves its capacity for rear-facing, making it as good as the best rear-facing car seats with 50 lbs. The $70 price gap gives you plenty of choices to get a cheap booster seat after your kid outgrows the 65-pound or 49-inch limit.

However, a lot of parents would still love the Evenflo Revolve 360 Gold’s booster mode to accommodate big kids.

Evenflo offers these clearly classified models to satisfy different needs and you can always find the best-valued one for your family and kid’s needs.

4. Design

360 Degrees Rotation

Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim Rotational Base

As the main selling point for the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim Swivel car seat, the 360 rotation design adds to its high price point.

Car seats with this feature can be rotated at different levels of rotation – 360 degrees, 180 degrees, and 90 degrees, making it easier to get your child in and out of the car.

The rotating feature is very convenient for some parents who have a problem bending to put or get the child in or out of the car. Also, it saves you time and hassle when you’re trying to juggle multiple things at once.

The obvious advantage is that you can swivel the car seat towards the door, which can make it easier to get your child in and out of the car without having to contort your body. As a result, you can effortlessly buckle your child in as well.

If you’ve ever had trouble buckling your child’s seatbelt in a traditional car seat, you’ll appreciate the convenience of being able to rotate the car seat towards you so you can buckle it in more easily.

The hidden advantage of the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim convertible car seat is that you need to install it once. You can swivel it from rear-facing to forward-facing as long as your kid reaches the top weight at 50 pounds or a height limit of 49 inches. This reduces the chance of incorrect car seat installation and increases the possibility of safety.

However, a rotating design does not mean perfect. Car seats that swivel can take up more space in your car, which could be an issue if you have a small car or need to fit multiple car seats in the backseat.

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim boasts of its narrow profile at 16.75 inches wide, as slim fit as other narrowest convertible car seats that are not rotatable.

It seems the Revolve 360 Slim would be okay to fit 3 across in the back row. But pay attention to spinning it and choosing an appropriate spot – better on the winder seat, avoiding affecting other kids in the back seat.

Overall, the rotating feature of the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim Swivel Convertible Car Seat is definitely convenient, but it’s important to keep in mind that it may not be ideal for every situation. You’ll want to consider the size of your car, the age, and weight of your child, and whether the rotating feature is worth the extra cost for your family’s needs.

Further Information

Best 360 car seats

Dimensions and Width

It seems that Evenflo finally noticed the needs of families that want to have three car seats in the back seat. Recently, it launched three slim models – the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim and its two siblings.

All of them have an ultra-narrow profile. This can be easily distinguished from their dimensions: 16.75 inches in width, 24.3 inches in height, and 21 inches in depth. Based on these specifications, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim car seat can be considered compact in design, especially when compared to other convertible car seats.

The 16.75-inch width is particularly noteworthy, making it one of the slimmest convertible car seats on the market, as narrow as the Graco SlimFit3 LX. This is a big advantage for parents who need to fit multiple car seats or passengers in the backseat.

The slim design also makes it easier to maneuver the car seat in and out of the car, which can be helpful if you frequently switch cars or transport the car seat between vehicles. Even though it’s heavy, it can be dispatched into two pieces for easy carry.

Despite its slim design, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim rotational car seat still offers plenty of room for your child. It is designed to accommodate children weighing between 5 to 65 pounds, with the adjustable headrest and harness to fit your child’s size as they grow.

Portability

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim weighs 28.2 pounds, which may sound heavy at first glance.

However, it’s important to consider that most convertible car seats typically weigh around 20-30 pounds, so the Revolve 360 Slim is not much heavier in comparison.

Actually, it’s the slightest among the Revolve 360 Slim series – the other two – Slim with Quick Clean Cover and Slim with SensorSafe, weigh up to 33.6 pounds.

The 28.2-pound weight is still manageable to move around, in case you occasionally need to switch the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim 2-in-1 rotational convertible car seat between different vehicles. However, it’s not recommended to take it for air travel, even though it’s FAA approved for aircraft use.

If you’re planning to travel with this car seat, you’ll want to make sure you can lift it and carry it easily. Some parents may find the Revolve 360 Slim too heavy for their needs, while others may not have an issue with the weight. But lightweight convertible car seats would be a more appealing choice for families on the go.

If portability is a top concern for you, there are other convertible car seats on the market that are in a folding design for easy transport.

Two Cup Holders

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational Convertible Car Seat comes with two cup holders, which can be helpful for parents and children during car rides. The cup holders are large in size and practical to hold bottles of different sizes.

The cup holders are built within the armrest on both sides, but not pre-installed. You’ll need to do a little assembling to use the cup holders. This built-in design makes the cup holders easier to access for small kids.

This can be helpful if your child needs a drink or a snack during a long car ride, and it can also help reduce spills since the cup holders are within easy reach. Some car seats, like the Nuna Exec, are with cup holders outer the edge of the shell, not as friendly as the ones in Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim.

The holders are deep enough to securely hold a cup, but also wide enough to accommodate larger cups. They’re made of dishwasher-safe materials, making them easy to clean.

Available colors

The Evenflo Revolve360 Slim 2-in-1 rotational convertible car seat is available in two different colors, including canton black and carver blue.

Both colors are versatile and can be used for either boys or girls. Okay, let’s be honest, these two colors are deeply dark and considered as a more masculine shade.

If you want a bright color for girls, like pink or purple, not the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim. We compiled the lists of car seats in these two colors, check our post on the best pink car seats and best purple car seats to find one if you have a strong personal tending on colors for girls.

Headrest and Harness - 15 Positions

As a long-term investment, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is designed for your child’s growing needs, making it a versatile and practical car seat option for parents. The car seat features an adjustable headrest and harness, providing customizable comfort and safety features for your child.

The headrest can be adjusted to fifteen different positions. That is the most among all the car seats in our database, as many as the Britax One4Life.

The 15-position means that you can easily adjust the headrest to fit your child’s head and neck correctly, no matter how quickly they grow. Plus, the large and thick-padded headrest helps keep your child’s head from falling forward while they nap in the car, making car rides more comfortable and safer for your child.

The 5-point harness can be adjusted with the hearest at the same time, thanks to its no re-thread harness design – a feature lots of moms praise.

Reclines - 4 Positions

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim has four recline positions. To adjust the recline, you need to use the recline handle, which is located at the bottom of the car seat. Here’s how to adjust the recline:

  • Lift up the fabric flap at the bottom of the car seat to reveal the recline handle.
  • Press the recline handle and slide the car seat forward or backward to the desired recline position.
  • Release the handle and ensure that the car seat is securely locked in place.

The four recline positions are designed to provide the best fit for your little one, depending on their age and size. The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is designed to be used in the fully upright position for older children, but younger children may need a more reclined position to ensure that their head and neck are properly supported.

Head Pillow and Body Pillow

The Evenflo Revolve360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational Convertible Car Seat comes with a removable infant insert, including the head pillow and body pillow, designed to provide additional safety and comfort, and support for newborns and infants.

The insert is made of soft and breathable materials, which can help keep your baby cool and comfortable during car rides.

The body pillow ensures little newborns especially premature babies are placed with the harness straps positioned correctly, while the head pillow provides additional support for your baby’s head and neck.

These infant inserts make the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim a practical and easy-to-use car seat option for parents to take their newborns from the hospital to home. They are used for small infants only, just in the rear-facing mode. As your kid grows bigger, you’ll need to remove them.

Padding

The Evenflo Revolve360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational Convertible Car Seat features thick and plush padding, providing your child with a soft and comfortable ride.

The seat pad of the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is made of removable and machine-washable fabric, which can be easily removed and washed for quick and convenient clean-ups.

To keep your kid comfy in the car seat, the pad as well as the headrest and harness make use of breathable fabric, which means air can easily flow through the cover, keeping your child cool and comfortable during hot summers.

5. Performance

Weight and Height Limits

If you’re looking for a convertible car seat that rotates and grows with your child, the Evenflo Revolve360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational convertible car seat might be the right choice for you.

This car seat offers an average 65-pound and 49-inch capacity for overall performance – that’s the same as other convertible car seats. However, the rear-facing weight and height limits are impressive.

When used in rear-facing mode, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim can accommodate children weighing anywhere from 4 to 50 pounds and measuring between 17 and 48 inches in height. This means that you can use the car seat from the early infant stage up until your child is ready to transition to forward-facing.

Once your child is ready for forward-facing mode, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim can accommodate children weighing between 22 and 65 pounds and measuring between 28 and 49 inches in height. This means that the car seat can continue to be used as your child grows and develops.

To maximize the fitting with growing kids, the car seat is designed with multiple positions for headrest adjustment and reclining, which will help you find the perfect fit for your child’s age, weight, and height.

Overall, the weight and height limits of the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational Convertible Car Seat make it a versatile and long-lasting car seat option.

Stage / Modes

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is a convertible car seat, which means it can be used in both rear-facing and forward-facing modes. This car seat is suitable for children from infancy up to toddlerhood and beyond, making it a versatile car seat option for families.

The primary benefit of a convertible car seat is that it can be used for multiple stages of a child’s growth and development. This means that you only have to purchase one car seat, rather than having to buy separate car seats for each stage of your child’s development.

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim can accommodate children weighing between 4 and 65 pounds, which can cover a significant portion of your child’s early years.

Another benefit of the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is its swivel feature, which allows for easy access to your child when putting them in or taking them out of the car seat. This can make trips easier and more convenient for parents, especially when dealing with a wiggly or fussy child.

Additionally, convertible car seats can be bulky and heavy, making them less ideal for air travel or when switching between multiple cars.

Age Range

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational Convertible Car Seat is designed to accommodate children ranging from infancy to toddlerhood and beyond.

However, the car seat does not have a specific age requirement since children develop at different rates and may outgrow the car seat at different times.

Instead of an age requirement, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim has specific weight and height limits that must be considered when determining whether the car seat is suitable for your child.

When used in rear-facing mode, the car seat can accommodate children weighing between 4 and 50 pounds and measuring between 17 and 48 inches in height. When used in forward-facing mode, the car seat can accommodate children weighing between 22 and 65 pounds and measuring between 28 and 49 inches in height.

Is Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim FAA approved?

Unlike the first Gold model, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is FAA approved for use on airplanes. You just need to use the car seat on an airplane by following the instructions in the car seat manual.

The slim fit design makes it fit well in narrow airplane seats.

However, most parents or families on the go would like to take the lightweight toddler car seats, instead of taking this 28.2-pound heavy machine to navigate through the busy airports.

But the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim car seat is certificated with FAA approval.

Lifespan

How long is Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim good for

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is able to last for approximately 10 years from the date of manufacture. This generally allows for use through multiple children or for your child to use it for several years until they outgrow it.

When a car seat reaches its expiration date, the materials may break down and become less effective in protecting your child during a car accident.

To find the expiration date of the Revolve3 60 Slim, you can look for a sticker on the car seat that contains the date of manufacture and the expiration date, which may be listed as a month and year or a specific month, day, and year.

Warranty

Typically, Evenflo provides only 90 days of warranty for its common products, like the EveryFit 4-in-1 car seat, Maestro Sport 2-in-1 harness booster, Sonus 65 and Tribute 5 convertible car seat, LiteMax 35 infant car seat, etc.

But for the Gold series, the manufacturer is very generous and provides a warranty of lifetime – the same long-lasting as the car seat’s lifespan, if you’ll register the car seat within the 3-month purchase. This includes the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim.

6. Crash Tests and Safety Ratings

Is it safe to use Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim?

Safety is a top priority when it comes to choosing a car seat for your child. The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim car seat is designed to meet or exceed all applicable safety standards, so you can be confident that your child is protected while using this car seat.

Also, the Revolve 360 Slim offers a wide range of safety features that can give parents peace of mind.

First, it is made with a steel-reinforced frame, which can provide additional strength, and durability, and also most important – it helps reduce the crash energy in case of crash.

Second, when using the car seat rear-facing, the base’s extension panel can be used as an anti-rebound bar, which greatly improves stability and absorbs the forces for collisions from the rear side.

Third, there is plenty of energy-absorbing foam lined within the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim 2-in-1 Rotational convertible car seat to enhance the protection and provide a cozy place for your kid in the car seat.

The car seat also features a five-point harness system that ensures your child is securely strapped in at all times. The harness can be adjusted to fit your child’s height and weight, which can provide a customized and comfortable fit.

Additionally, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim car seat also features a secure latch system that ensures it is properly installed in your car.

Side Impact Protection

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim 2-in-1 rotational convertible car seat is designed with several features that work together to help protect your child in a side-impact collision.

The large and deep headrest is the first. It helps to shield your child’s head and neck from impact. This can help reduce the risk of serious injuries to the head and neck, which can be common in side-impact collisions.

The car seat also features energy-absorbing foam, which is strategically placed throughout the car seat, including in the headrest, seat base, and side wings, helping to lessen the impact on your child’s body and reduce the risk of injury and absorb and disperse the force of a side-impact collision.

In addition to these features, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim also features a five-point harness system that securely holds your child in place in the event of a collision.

7. Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim Installation

Before starting to install the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim car seat, you may where to put it. The center of the back seat is probably the safest position to install a car seat.

If possible, install the car seat on that spot. If that seat is not applicable for a proper installation, for example lacking a shoulder belt, either seat on the side would be safe. You may choose any of them based on your family’s and kid’s needs.

However, if you’re a big family with several kids in a car seat, for instance, having three car seats in the same row in the back seat, the window seat would be better.

Installing the Revolve 360 Slim can be very different from installing common convertible car seats because you need to install it one time.

Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim User Manual

The user manual is the most important thing you need to make sure it’s included in the package. You should always read the user manual before starting to install and use it for riding your child.

The Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim manual is stored in a small storage slot on the back of the seat, just below the recline adjuster. But you can always find the online user manual on its official website, or download the PDF here.

#1. Remove and install the Shell to the Base

Removing the Seat Shell from the Base

To remove the Seat Shell from the Base:

1. Locate the white arrow on the front of the Seat Shell.

2. Lift up on one of the two Rotation Levers at either side of the Headrest and rotate the Seat Shell until the arrow on the Seat Shell aligns with one of the white arrows on the Base.

3. Lift the Seat Shell off of the Base.

Installing the Seat Shell to the Base

To install the Seat Shell to the Base:

1. Locate the white arrow on the front of the Seat Shell.

2. Align the arrow on the Seat Shell with one of the two white arrows on the Base.

3. Place the Seat Shell on the Base. NOTE: The Harness Adjustment Strap can interfere with the seat lock. DO NOT allow the strap to get caught between the Seat Shell and Base during installation.

4. Rotate the seat in either direction to ensure it is properly installed. NOTE: The seat will not rotate in the forward-facing direction unless it is fully reclined.

#2. Install Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim

Installing Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim is essentially to install the base, then you can follow the steps to remove or install the shell to the base.

So, it’s understandable that the shell can’t be used alone in the car seat. It MUST work with the base. This is very different from the relationship between the infant car seat carrier and its base.

There are three methods to install the Revolve 360 Slim base, with a lap/shoulder belt system (best recommended), lap belt, and LATCH (UAS).

ALWAYS USE A TETHER STRAP FOR INSTALLATION.

Installing Evenflo Revolve Slim with Lap/Shoulder Belt

This installation video is for installing an Evenflo Revolve360 all-in-one car seat in rear-facing. Installing the Evenflo Revolve360 Slim is exactly the same process as this. And you only need to install it once in rear-facing and then rotate to face front when you kid outgrows the rear-facing weight or height limit.
