Best Rotating Car Seat Swivel 360° from Evenflo, Graco, Nuna, Baby Jogger, and Cybex

The Evenflo Revolve360 represents a surprisingly reliable rotating car seat – particularly when you take into account the affordability of its price tag.

If you’re on a budget and need a swivel car seat that you can depend on – rear-facing and forward-facing – then don’t come much better than this.

Flaunting a 360-degree rotation, it can be rotated 360 degrees on its base to make getting your baby or toddler in and out of the car very easy. But rest assured, that’s not the only string to this scintillating, cut-price rotating car seat’s bow.

Capable of lasting for good years through the whole three car seat stages from day one to the day when your little one does not need a car seat, the Evenflo Revovle360 easily outperforms its modest price tag. 

It’s easy to get carried away with the Revolve360’s specs (it’s really amazing as an all-in-one car seat), but let’s get back to what we’re here for – its rotatable capabilities. The 360-degree rotation means you can not only get it rear-facing and forward-facing, but also side-facing to the vehicle door. 

That’s ultra-convenient for you to put your baby in and out of the car seat, especially when your baby grows to toddler age and you still want to keep them rear-facing (thanks to the 40-pound rear-facing weight limit).  

But to be the best affordable swivel car seat, several other important factors come into play.

There’s the size and type of the car seat, for instance. Designed as an all-in-one car seat with a 120-pound and 57-inch size limitation, the Evenflo Revolve lasted good years and can be used in three modes: rear-facing, forward-facing, and as a booster seat, just same as the Graco Turn2Me and Maxi-Cosi Emme 360. 

All three rotating all-in-one car seats are good for extendable rear-facing for the 40-lb top weight limit. But Revolve360 has a higher booster weight limit (120 lbs vs 100 lbs).

Don’t worry about putting a 30-40 lb toddler in rear-facing. You can spin the car seat front facing or toward the vehicle door so that your little one climbs in themselves. After buckling them safely in the 5-point harness, you simply need to swivel it back rear-facing. Super effortless for both kids and parents!

The rotatable design changes the game for car seat installation. Don’t misunderstand. You can also install the Evenflo Revolve360 with both LATCH connectors and a seat belt. If the seat belt installation is applied, you just need to install the car seat ONCE. It’s a rotating car seat! You can swivel it to forward-facing from rear-facing after your kid outgrows the maximum height or weight limit, around the age of two.

Adding to the 360-degree rotation are its safety features. The Evenflo Revolve360 has a solid build, thanks to its metal frame and thick padding. It’s also rollover crash tested to prove its ability to protect your little one in this rotating design. You’ll find that all the rotating car seats are heavy-duty, giving parents the impression that they are strong and protective.

A few other features that are worth highlighting about this rotating car seat include a no-rethread harness with 14 different positions (a bit more than other rotating convertible car seats), four recline options, an anti-rebound bar, several easy-to-use features to ensure you’re getting a safe and secure install for reliable protection.

The Baby Jogger City Turn is also rotatable – but it’s not like the other rotating car seats to swivel 360 degrees. This City Turn rotating convertible car seat only supports 180-degree rotation from rear-facing to forward-facing. But that’s enough! You can still spin it facing the car door to put your kid in and swivel it rear-facing. 

No forward-facing rotation for this swivel car seat. The rotation for Baby Jogger is only available in rear-facing mode. No matter which window seat you have placed it in, you can always easily wrangle your child into and out of it as compared to a non-turning traditional convertible car seat.

The 180-degree rotation in the rear-facing mode perfectly matches its extendable rear-facing usage. The Baby Jogger City Turn is the only rotating car seat with a 50-lb rear-facing weight limit, beating most convertible car seats on the market. Only a few car seats are competitive to this swivel car seat in this aspect, like Graco Extend2Fit, Diono Radian 3R, and Britax One4Life. 

Spin the car seat to the vehicle door and put a child in, then swivel it back rear-facing. In this way, you can even effortlessly have a toddler around 3 years old rear-facing into this rotating car seat.

Even better, the Baby Jogger City Turn is rotatable with one hand. You can simply press the big button at the bottom to rotate the car seat. This is very helpful if you have your baby on the other hand when you just take them out of the car or want to put them in. 

Like the Cybex Sirona S, the Baby Jogger City Turn is a rotating convertible car seat. But its rear- and forward-facing weight limits are on the higher side for a swivel car seat, so you’ll be able to use this seat for good years, and there’s a 10-position headrest and six recline positions to grow with your child for extra safety and comfort. 

You may have noticed that the Baby Jogger City Turn is rated as our “best rotating car seat for hot weather”. It features a moisture-wicking COOLMAX material to help avoid sweat and keep your little one cool and comfortable in the car seat, making it a really good choice if you live in a warmer climate or city.

What we also like about the City Turn are the things including the steel-reinforced frame, energy-absorbing foam, and fairly installation process. My friend Lily (she is a loyal fan of swivel car seats and has tested both.) told me that City Turn is much easier to install than the Cybex Sirona S. 

Its narrow profile is probably one reason. The Baby Jogger City Turn is the narrowest rotating car seat on this list, only 19 inches wide, making it a good choice if you’re trying to save space in your back seat. The 19-inch width is also good enough to make this rotating car seat have a name in the best narrow car seats. However, it’s not as narrow as those car seats to fit 3 across. 

The down point? The Baby Jogger City Turn is on the pricier side. It is listed for over $500 but you can get it at around $400 during the deal promotion like Black Friday. That’s more expensive than other rotating car seats and most all-in-one car seats on the market. After comparing the rotating car seats to traditional ones, you’ll find that the former is commonly higher priced than the latter. That’s understandable. The swivel car seats deliver more convenience.

As mentioned above, this car seat swivels 180 degrees and is only rotatable when it’s in rear-facing mode, not when it’s forward-facing. Not as ideal as other rotating car seats, but good enough for its price. 

Another point we want you to know is that the seat will be very close to the car door when you swivel it side-facing. That’s good if you install this seat in the center of the back, but will result in a problem with the window seat.

The seat turns not from the center, but from the back, so it swings out over the door threshold and you cannot close the door to some cars when it’s turned. That means, younger toddlers will be unable to climb up into this car seat. This is not a biggie as you can turn the car seat at any time, just making it less appealing while other rotating car seats don’t have this issue.
