I’ve reviewed several swivel car seats and I have to say that the Evenflo Revolve 360 is up there with the best. For an all-in-one car seat, there’s nothing on the market that can compete with the Gold Revolve 360.
Everything from the 360-degree rotation to the high weight and height limits and everything in between is expertly designed with safety, comfort, and functionality in mind. The rear-facing harness of up to 40 pounds, forward-facing harness of up to 65 pounds, and booster of up to 120 pounds make the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 last good years while the energy-absorbing foam, two layers of side impact protection, and foolproof installation deliver safe rides all the time.
Where the Evenflo Revolve 360 struggles, though, is in its price. With an MSRP of around $400, the Gold Revolve 360 is more expensive than most all-in-one car seats on the market. However, it’s the most affordable rotating car seat ever.

Will the Evenflo Revolve 360 Car Seat Be a Good Fit For Your Child and Family?
There is one type of parent that will love Evenflo Revolve 360, and that’s anyone looking for a rotating car seat for easy access to their child.
The 360-degree rotation is absolutely the best selling point for this car seat. You don’t need to climb in the back row to get your kid in and out of the car seat with the rotating feature. Also, you just need to install it once (only the base), then rotate the carrier for different stages and modes.
It’s a versatile car seat that can grow with their child. It is suitable for infants and toddlers and big kids thanks to its weight range from 4 to 120 pounds as long as they’re within the 57-inch height limit.
The 40-lb rear-facing weight limit is a bit lower than the 50-lb of its newest siblings of the Slim series and Extend series, but it’s good enough to suit toddlers around 2-2.5 years old.

For other rotating car seats, I would say that whether you think the car seat is worth its price tag will depend on what you’re looking for from a car seat. But for this one, I would say that
‘The Evenflo Revolve 360 is definitely worthy of its price tag.’
It’s the best option balancing safety, comfort, ease to use, convenience, and price.
If you want a car seat that is well-built and last good years, meaning it has a higher size limit and is safe and comfortable to ride your kid every time on the road, then the Evenflo Revolve 360 is a good option and worth the $399.99 price tag, especially adding the 360 degrees rotation.
It maintains Evenflo’s stellar reputation and its combination of safety features and ease of use is what makes it attractive to so many parents. Both of these factors play a big role in its price tag.
We have over 50+ car seats in our database and not a single one rivals the Evenflo Revolve for its practicality and price – it’s the cheapest rotating car seat that lasts three car seat stages from rear-facing harness, forward-facing harness, and booster. Evenflo Revolve 360 Dimensions and Width
Like all 3 in 1 car seats, the Evenflo Revolve 360 is bulky and takes much space for placement. This can be known from its design as well as the dimensions:

Height: 25.9 inches
The Evenflo Revolve 360 is a not compact car seat, especially considering its 360-degree rotation feature. It probably needs more space than traditional car seats as they’re fixed after installation and during use. But if you want to get the kid in and out of the car seat, you need to rotate it to face the door and then face the rear or front. So it needs a bit of space from the next seat.
While the car seat is not the slimmest on the market, it is designed to fit in most vehicles and can be used in small cars. The 19.8-inch width is relatively narrow if compared to the best narrow car seats we reviewed. (20-inch is the basic threshold but I think I need to update it in the future.)
However, whether it will fit three across in the backseat of your vehicle will depend on the size and shape of your vehicle’s back seat and if there are any other car seats that you are using next to it.

Portability
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat weighs approximately 29.6 pounds, which is a little heavier than the majority of car seats on the market, making it difficult for parents, especially short moms, to move it from one vehicle to another. The better part of this rotating car seat is that it consists of two parts – a carrier and a base. That means, if you really want to switch between cars, you can effortlessly achieve this.
Also, the installation can be easily done with the manufacturer’s unique Sure360 Safety Installation System as well as the LockStrong bar and Tether360. This combination also increases the possibility for parents to install and use the Evenflo Revolve 360 properly, resulting in safety enhancement.
Due to the heavy-duty carrier and base, the Revolve 360 may not be the best option for families who frequently need to move the car seat in and out of their vehicle. If portability is a top priority, you may want to consider a more lightweight car seat or some car seats that are foldable.
Two Cup Holders
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat comes equipped with two built-in cup holders, which can be convenient for parents and children alike. The cup holders are located on both sides of the car seat, making it easy for children to reach for their drinks and snacks during a long car ride. With a large and deep design, the cup holders are friendly to hold most types of water bottles.
They are also removable, which makes them easy for parents to clean and maintain. If they become dirty or sticky, you can simply remove them from the car seat and wash them in the sink or dishwasher.
However, it is important to note that the cup holders do add a little bit of width to the car seat, which could make it more difficult to fit three across in the back seat of some vehicles. But this is not a biggie if you have one or two kids in a car seat.
Headrest and Harness - 14 Positions
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat has a 14-position adjustable headrest, which can be adjusted with one hand. To adjust the headrest and harness height, simply pull the lever located at the top of the car seat, and then move the headrest up or down to the desired position.
The harness straps will automatically adjust to the correct height as you adjust the headrest. (A really LOVELY feature!)
The 14 headrest positions are very outstanding among the all-in-one car seats – only Birtax One4Life’s 15 positions outperform that. That allows for a custom fit as your child grows, ensuring that the harness is always positioned correctly and that the car seat provides the maximum amount of protection and comfort.
Reclines - 4 Positions
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat has four recline positions. To adjust the recline, you need to use the recline handle, which is located at the bottom of the car seat. Here’s how to adjust the recline:
- Lift up the fabric flap at the bottom of the car seat to reveal the recline handle.
- Press the recline handle and slide the car seat forward or backward to the desired recline position.
- Release the handle and ensure that the car seat is securely locked in place.
The four recline positions are designed to provide the best fit for your little one, depending on their age and size. The car seat is designed to be used in the fully upright position for older children, but younger children may need a more reclined position to ensure that their head and neck are properly supported.
Head Pillow and Body Pillow
The Evenflo Revolve 360 comes equipped with a body pillow and a head pillow, which are used to provide extra support and comfort for smaller infants.
They are designed to help babies fit snugly in the car seat and include additional padding and a head support pillow to keep your newborn’s head and body in the correct position.
That’s because newborns may not fit well in a car seat at their own size and the body pillow helps to raise them up to make sure the harness straps are at or below the child’s shoulders.
Both are used for rear-facing only and can be removable when your kid grows and no longer needs the extra support. The Evenflo does not specify the weight limit to remove the body pillow or head pillow in the car seat manual because babies are at different growth paces and sizes.
It’s important to refer to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure that you are using the infant insert correctly and that it is properly installed in the car seat.
Padding
Another area where the Revolve 360 impresses is in the padding and cushion. It’s clearly improved from its cheaper models like the Evenflo Chase and Sonus 65, even though it’s still the cheapest one of the rotating car seats.
With the addition of decent padding, Evenflo has successfully closed the gap on the comfy level between its high-end models to other more expensive car seats.
On the one hand, brands opt for thick padding to benefit from the comfortable ride experience that they provide, and on the other, well-padded car seats are good for reducing crash energy, and providing extra protection. With the Gold Revolve 360, Evenflo has equipped it with the best of both worlds.
When looking at the rotatable car seats that I recommend as alternatives, they all have plenty of padding.
Materials
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat features a combination of materials designed for comfort and durability. The seat pad and headrest are made from a soft and breathable knit fabric that is easy to clean.
5. Performance
Evenflo Revolve 360 Weight and Height Limits
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat has a weight limit of 5 to 40 pounds and a height limit of up to 49 inches for rear-facing harness mode. That’s very common among all-in-one and convertible car seats.
But the manufacturer listened to the customer’s voice and recently launched two upgraded models with 50 lbs rear-facing weight limit – Evenflo Gold Revolve360 Extend with SensorSafe and Evenflo Gold Revolve360 Extend with Quick Clean Cover. Both are good car seats with a 50 lbs rear-facing weight limit. (The rear-facing height limit for both extended versions is 48 inches.)
After switching the Evenflo Revolve 360 to a forward-facing harness, its average performance in the height and weight limit: was 65 lbs/ 49″. The good point is that you can more effortlessly get the kid in and out of the car seat as well.
We’re a big fan of high booster weight limits, and the Revolve 360 follows suit. It has a 120-pound capacity in booster mode, making it a good option for big kids to stay in this car seat until they don’t need it anymore. See also the best car seats with a 5-point harness up to 120 pounds.
However, the height limit of 57 inches is relatively low (even most car seats are at this level), which means that taller children may outgrow the car seat before they reach the weight limit.
It’s important to note that car seats are designed to be used for a limited period of time, and you should always follow the Evenflo Revolve 360 manual regarding the maximum weight and height limits for every stage.
Stage / Modes
With the word ‘all-in-one’ in its name, the Evenflo Revolve 360 can’t be anything but, can it?
Well, true to its name, it supports three stages: rear-facing harness, forward-facing harness, and booster. And to the NHTSA’s definition of car seat stages, it should be the last car seat you’ll need to ride your little one from birth to the day they don’t need a child restraint system for protection. (But still need to use the vehicle seat belt then.)
It’s a pity that the Evenflo Gold Revolve360 does not allow for a no-back booster. It’s understandable because the car seat carrier must be installed and used with the base. They’re ONE!
Age Range
What age is Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 car seat for?
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat is designed to be used from birth up to when your child reaches the maximum weight and height limit for the car seat, as long as the car seat is still good in its expiration date.
The top height and weight limits are 120 lbs/57″. It’s good to keep your little one to 8-9 years of age, meeting or exceeding the federal requirements on a booster seat or booster mode. This makes Revolve 360 a good car seat for 7 year olds.
It’s important to always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation and use and to make sure that the car seat is appropriate for your child’s age, weight, and height.
Airplane
Can you take Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 on a plane?
I’m afraid not. The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat is NOT FAA-approved for use on airplanes.
You can find this statement in the manual. (It is stored on the back of the car seat.) It is only approved for use in motor vehicles, and it should always be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions in the rear-facing or forward-facing position, depending on your child’s weight and height.
If you need a car seat for air travel, you may want to consider purchasing another car seat that is specifically approved for use on airplanes. Look for a car seat that is lightweight, easy to install, and meets the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA recommends that children under the age of 2 be secured in a car seat on an airplane, and some airlines require that all children under a certain age or size use a car seat during the flight. How long is Evenflo Revolve 360 good for
The Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat has a recommended lifespan of around 10 years from the date of manufacture.

6. Evenflo Revolve 360 Safety Rating
Does Evenflo Revolve 360 pass the crash tests rating?
Yes, this meets all applicable federal safety standards and has been tested for crash performance.
A little unknown secret about the car seat industry is that all car seats sold in the United States are required to meet federal safety standards, and the Evenflo Revolve 360 is no exception. Even better, in the car seat manual, the manufacturer says that the Revolve360 also meets the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Stands 213 (213.1 and 213.2).
The car seat has side-impact protection, which is designed to help keep your child safe in the event of a collision. Usually, the more layers of side impact protection a car seat has, the better! The manufacturer doesn’t make it clear how many layers the Revolve 360 has.
There should be at least two layers. In addition, the car seat is equipped with an adjustable headrest, which helps to protect your child’s head and neck in case of a crash.
If you’re worrying about its rotation feature being a potential cause of any less protection, don’t have to be. The Evenflo Revolve 360 is a safe car seat that has been tested and meets the safety standards in both US and Canada.
Another thing that is more important than the crash tests and safety rating is that you are installing and using the car seat PROPERLY. As long as you follow the instructions and steps in the Evenflo Revolve 360 manual, it would provide parents with peace of mind knowing that their child is protected while they are on the road.
What I don’t mention above is the well-padded cushion, which is made of energy-absorbing foam, along the steel-reinforced frame; they perform excellently to provide extra protection in a crash.
7. Evenflo Revolve 360 Installation
Installing the Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat can be a straightforward process with the right tools and techniques. Thanks to its 360-degree rotational ability, you only need to install it once. You’d better check if it’s possible to convert the Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat into booster mode directly when your kid outgrows the forward-facing harness weight limit (65 pounds) or height limit (49 inches).
Why? In the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 manual, the best way to install this car seat is to use the lap/shoulder belt system for the rear- and forward-facing harness modes. While the recommended way to install the Evenflo Revolve 360 in booster mode is using the LATCH.
So here are some tips for Evenflo Revolve 360 installation.
Decide which mode
The car seat can be used in three modes: rear-facing, forward-facing, and booster.
If you’re using the Gold Revolve 360 for newborns and small babies, you’ll need to install the car seat in rear-facing mode first. That’s the most cases.
Choose the right installation method
The Evenflo Revolve 360 can be installed using either the vehicle’s seat belt or the LATCH system: Lap/ shoulder belt system, lap belt only, and LATCH connectors.
Using the vehicle’s lap/shoulder belt system is the best way to install the Evenflo Revolve 360 in rear-facing and forward-facing modes; while the LATCH would be better for booster mode installation.
Kind reminder here – that there is a weight limit if you’re using LATCH for rear-facing and forward-facing installation:
- For rear-facing – 35 lbs
- For forward-facing – 40 lbs.
You will have enough time to decide transition from seat belt installation to LATCH installation when converting the car seat from harness to booster.
Install the base
If you’re using the LATCH system, attach the base of the car seat to the lower anchors in your vehicle. If you’re using the vehicle’s seat belt, thread the seat belt through the base and buckle it in place. Make sure the base is securely fastened and that it doesn’t move more than 1 inch from side to side or front to back.
Check if the Evenflo Revolve 360 base installed tightly or not
Push down on the Evenflo Revolve 360 base to make sure it’s securely installed. No matter which installation method is selected, make sure the base doesn’t move more than 1 inch from side to side or front to back.
If the Revolve 360 base moves more than 2.5 cm (1 in), open LockStrong, tension the vehicle belt a little more, and try again. If the base still moves too much, you may need to try a different vehicle seat location, installation method, or both.
Follow the user manual to properly use the Tether to install and tighten the Evenflo Revolve 360 base.
Attach the car seat shell to the base
Attach the car seat shell to the base by following below steps:
1. Lift the legrest flap and locate the arrow on the underside of the seat pad.
2. Align the arrow on the seatpad with one of the two arrows on the Base.
3. Install the Seat Shell to the Base.
4. Rotate the seat in either direction to ensure it is properly installed.
Rotate the car seat to right position
Move the seat shell to the appropriate REAR-FACING or FORWARD-FACING position based on the child’s size, and lock it into position.
Rear-facing child requirements:
- 1.9 – 18 kg (4 – 40 lbs)
- 44 – 101 cm (17 – 40 in)
- Top of child’s head is at least 2.5 cm (1 in) or more below the top of the Car Seat Headrest or Shell
- Harness Straps must be adjusted to be AT or JUST BELOW child’s shoulders.
Plus requirement for rear-facing installation. Recline Ball should be in correct zone for child size:
- White Zone: 1.9 – 9 kg (4 – 20 lbs)
- Black Zone: 9 – 18 kg (20 – 40 lbs)
Forward-facing child requirements:
- 10 – 29.4 kg (22 – 65 lbs)
- 72 – 124 cm (28 – 49 in)
- Tops of the child’s ears are at or below the top of the Car Seat headrest
- At least 2 years old
- Harness Straps must be adjusted to be AT or JUST ABOVE child’s shoulders.
- When used FORWARD-FACING, make sure the Car Seat is in the UPRIGHT position as shown.
Final confirmaiton
Confirm that the seat is in a locked position by checking that the Rotation Lock Indicator is GREEN.
Install Evenflo Revolve 360 in Booster Mode
NEVER use Top Tether in BOOSTER mode.
Probably, you’ll install the Evenflo Revolve 360 with the lap/shoulder belt or lap belt in the first two modes because there is no weight limit.
Now you’ll need to convert the car seat to booster mode for kids bigger than 4 years or older. It’s better to use the LATCh connector to install the base. That’s easy to under – the lap/ shoulder belt will be used to secure your kid in the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 car seat.
1. BEFORE installing car seat, ensure Tether Strap is stored.
2. Before placing car seat in vehicle, remove Seat Shell from Base, then place the Base in an approved rear vehicle seating location and make sure it lies flat on the vehicle seat.
3. Remove LATCH/UAS anchors from storage locations on back side of base. Remove each connector by pulling out on red release strap.
4. Squeeze handle on LockStrong belt tensioner until lock indicator turns RED, then lift up on belt tensioner to allow access to the belt path.
5. Attach LATCH/UAS Connectors to vehicle Lower Anchor Bars. Connectors will make an audible CLICK when attached. Make sure they are attached by pulling firmly on connectors. Do not pull on red Release Strap.
6. Push Base against vehicle seat back. Tension LATCH/UAS Strap by pulling on loop until snug, making sure not to overtighten.
7. After tightening LATCH/UAS, secure excess strap under the LockStrong.
8. Apply pressure to fully close the LockStrong. The lock indicator will turn GREEN when fully closed. NOTE: If belt tensioner does not fully close (lock indicator still RED), open the LockStrong and try loosening the LATCH/UAS strap slightly.
9. Install Seat Shell to Base, move seat to most reclined position and rotate FORWARD-FACING, then lock into position.
10. Confirm that the seat is in a locked position by checking that the Rotation Lock Indicator is GREEN.
