According to<\/span> Connecticut State Law, <\/span>children under eight years old or sixty pounds should ride in a size-appropriate<\/span> restraint <\/strong>system<\/strong> in comp<\/span>li<\/span>ance <\/span>with<\/span> t<\/span>he United St<\/span>ate<\/span>s D<\/span>epartm<\/span>ent<\/span> of Trans<\/span>portation Stan<\/span>dar<\/span>ds<\/span> and acco<\/span>rding<\/span> to th<\/span>e sp<\/span>eci<\/span>fi<\/span>ca<\/span>tions<\/span> li<\/span>st<\/span>ed<\/span> b<\/span>y the <\/span>safe<\/span>ty<\/span> seat<\/span> m<\/span>anufacturers.<\/span><\/p> Connecticut is one of the eight states to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations on optimal child seat safety. For example, if your kid weighs 33 pounds but he or she is only 18 months old.
